Anusara Yoga As a Way to Heal the Body
Anusara Yoga is an elegant style of hatha yoga that blends strong Universal Principles of Physical Alignment and body mechanics with inspirational teachings to penetrate the layers of the heart and mind and connect you to your authentic self. Anusara Yoga serves all levels of students as the physical alignment and body mechanics are healing to the body,improving strength, flexibility and posture. Physical injuries both chronic and acute can be healed as the body aligns to its natural state. Anusara yoga encourages you to stand in yourself with strength and inspiration from the inside out to empower and deepen your yoga practice. Anusara yoga awakens you to the richness of life that comes when we live from a place of deep appreciation for what life brings, when we open ourselves to affirming life's goodness and say YES to everything that comes our way.
Introduction to Anusara, Level 1 Foundations
Taught as a blended asana flow class and workshop style demonstration practice to allow students to experience and assimilate the Universal Principles of Alignment (UPA's) in the body. Have fun and leave feeling uplifted.
Anusara Mixed Level
As we learn to integrate the Universal Principles of Alignment into our practice we transform to a more mindful, conscious practice. We begin to move from a place of knowing that is intuitive, intense and skillful. The body mechanics along with our breath allows us to explore more advanced postures that strengthen us and increase the muscloskeletal body's ability to be more flexible and resilliant, which keeps us injury free. In these classes we incorporate Level 1 and 2 Anusara Syllabus, into asana flow classes that are structured with a heart theme focusing on 2-3 key alignment principles to reinforce learning. Demonstrations, and some partnering will be done to help clarify students awareness and sensitivity maximizing each students ability to access their own individual blueprint to the highest potential.
Beginners Yoga 60 Minutes
Beginners Yoga is designed to develop new students intuitive awareness, offering the opportunity to slowly strengthen the body and possibly healing previous injuries through the “Universal Principals of Alignment. As a student you are supported and encouraged to “Start Where You Are” learning to work within the scope of your body’s individual blueprint
Power Yoga & Power Yoga Basics
Power Yoga & Power Yoga Basics is based on the Baptiste method of teaching and fosters flexibility, strength and breath awareness. The practice of connecting breath and movement in a broad range of postures creates a great flow, both for the body and the mind, allowing students to tap into creativity and intuition. Our teachers are certified through the Baptiste Method at our local Baptiste Yoga Affiliate here in Cleveland.
Bikram-Style Hot Yoga 90 min
Designed for the challenges of the cold weather, increasing darkness, and the holiday season, this six-class hot yoga series employs the art and science of yoga to bring you happiness, healthfulness, and wholeness. In every class you will enjoy a 90 min Bikram-style class in a 90 degree room (Classical Hatha 26-pose sequence) a brief Yin Yoga Sequence and a Delicious Yoga Nidra. This is hot yoga with depth and soul and is appropriate for all healthy individuals at all levels. Bring a mat, bath towel, small towel and at least 20 ounces of water.
Core Yoga 60 min
Combines Vinyasa Yoga with muscular resistance weight training. The use of free weights, tubing and other forms of weight and resistance training equipment is added to the practice to enhance the overall benefits of yoga, increased strength and flexibility, with muscular resistance training to increase endurance, metabolism (burning additional calories) and to prevent osteoporois. This class is open to all levels whether you already have a weight training program or are just starting out. This class has the added benefit of reducing stress and calming your mind. Feel the exhilaration, empower yourself to live happy, healthy and vibrant!!
Introduction to Partner Yoga Classes 90 min
Partner Acro Yoga - Come and learn some new ways to move! Find Alignment with yourself and your partner. Go deeper, enjoy more and expand your skills. The classes involve yoga poses, a little bit of Thai Yoga Massage, Tai Chi, Capoeira and some Acro flying and a lot of fun!
You can come with a partner or fly solo.
R&R Yoga (Relax And Restore Yoga)
A slower, gentler yoga class for any and every body, R&R classes include slow, gentle relaxation flow, followed by restorative and therapeutic yoga poses. In restorative yoga poses, yoga does the work through use of props and breath. Comfortable postures are explored for longer periods of time than in other style classes, allowing the body to open and release. R&R classes are excellent for stress management, creating a nurturing environment for healing, relaxation, and transformation to occur. Restorative yoga, also called active relaxation," has been found to reduce stress, manage medical treatment side effects, relieve pain, and promote health and peace of mind. Treat yourself to some R&R!
Open Level Vinyasa
Suitable for most students including newer students to the practice. Classes provide a well rounded practice of standing, balancing, backbends, twists and seated poses. Every instructor is different so try them all!!
Slow Delicious Flow
A yummy slower paced practice to warm you from the inside out. New poses will be gently introduced and demonstrated in this class as an offering to students that are wanting more than an open level practice.
